Guide
Getting Started with TradingLead Charts
Start TradingLead by signing in, completing your profile and opening a supported symbol in the chart workspace. Check the source and candle interval before adding drawings or indicators; the platform has a five-day product trial rather than a perpetual free charting plan.
What this guide covers
This guide gets you from a TradingLead sign-in to a small, understandable chart setup. The first goal is not to add as many tools as possible. It is to know which instrument, source and interval you are looking at and whether the candles have actually loaded.
TradingLead is a chart and research workspace. Nothing in this onboarding exercise is a buy/sell recommendation, and a chart annotation does not submit a broker order.
1. Sign in and complete your profile
Open the chart workspace. If TradingLead asks you to sign in, use its account flow and complete any required profile details. The workspace can remain visible while account interaction is paused, so a chart-shaped background does not necessarily mean you have completed access checks.
Use the account you intend to retain for research and subscription access. If an account warning appears, address it directly rather than repeatedly reopening charts or connecting a broker.
2. Understand the trial before starting
TradingLead provides a five-day product trial, anchored to the product join date. This is not a permanent free charting plan. After trial expiry, continued platform access requires an active subscription.
Check pricing for the current purchase terms. A separate broker or data-provider plan may still be necessary for a particular connection. A TradingLead trial does not grant exchange-market entitlements, and downloading Desktop does not establish a new account trial.
3. Open a supported instrument
Begin with a published equity or index available from the built-in TradingLead source. Choose a familiar company or index from the available catalogue, but verify the exchange and instrument identity.
For example, the published catalogue includes NSE equity symbols and Nifty index symbols. A spot index is different from a futures contract, and neither is an option strike. Do not infer options coverage from an F&O label elsewhere.
If you need broker-specific BSE or futures coverage, use the relevant provider's catalogue and test the actual instrument. Read Indian stock charts for the current coverage boundaries.
4. Check the chart source
The chart's feed identifies the selected source. Keep the built-in feed for this first exercise unless you specifically need a connected provider.
A broker badge saying Connected is not the same as the current chart using that broker. Setup dialogs distinguish the connection from Current chart. Candle testing is another separate action.
For a provider connection, follow connect a broker feed. Do not paste API secrets or access tokens into a symbol search, chart note or assistant conversation.
5. Choose an interval and wait for data
Choose a daily chart or an available intraday preset. The main chart offers minute-based intervals and daily, weekly and monthly views. Custom minute intervals range from 1 to 1440, subject to source support.
Check that candles are present and that the displayed symbol and interval match your selection. A chart widget can appear before its history finishes loading. Inspect timestamps and any source warning instead of assuming that an updating screen contains fresh exchange prices.
Second-based built-in intervals are not established by the current picker. Learn the difference between interval and zoom in timeframes.
6. Build one simple research view
Start with ordinary candlesticks. Read the open, high, low and close for a completed candle. Add one horizontal line or rectangle and write a short note describing what you observed.
Only then add an indicator you understand. More overlays can obscure the underlying question. If you try Heikin Ashi, remember that transformed candles are not actual transaction prices.
Save meaningful chart work before replacing a setup or closing a session. Saved chart layouts, drawing templates and indicator templates are different objects.
7. Expand only when you need to
Use multiple chart layouts to compare symbols or intervals. Install Desktop when you need a supported local data interface or another native workflow, not merely because a provider returns an error.
Limitations and recovery
If history is empty, check the exact symbol, interval and selected source. Missing candles can be a coverage issue; repeatedly reconnecting does not add instruments. Do not hide a failure by silently treating another provider's data as the same series.
Built-in cloud updates have no guaranteed real-time exchange-tick or fixed-delay claim here. FYERS website live quotes require an entitled connection and an explicit live-update choice.
FAQ
Can I practice without risking real orders?
Chart analysis itself does not execute broker orders. For a dedicated simulated workflow, read paper trading, including its own data and accounting limitations.
What should I verify before finishing my first session?
Confirm the instrument, feed, interval and timestamps, then save work you want to keep. Record uncertainty about missing or stale data rather than treating a chart screenshot as proof of freshness.
Steps
- Open TradingLead charts and sign in.
- Complete required profile details and review trial access.
- Choose a supported instrument and confirm the chart source.
- Select a timeframe and wait for candles.
- Add a drawing or study and save meaningful work.
Limitations
- Trial access lasts five days from the product join date.
- A chart loading successfully does not certify fresh market prices.
- The current Indian website connectors do not provide options charts.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I start without a broker account?
- Yes. Use the built-in TradingLead source for its published symbols without supplying your own broker credentials. TradingLead account access and trial/subscription terms still apply.
- How long is the free trial?
- TradingLead's product trial lasts five days from the account's product join date. Continued access after expiry requires an active subscription; see pricing for current terms.
- Do I need the Desktop app first?
- No. Supported charts and browser research tools work on the website. Install Desktop only for a workflow that specifically requires its local or native interfaces.
- Why can I see the workspace but not use it?
- Authentication or profile completion can pause chart interaction, and trial/subscription access can require attention. Resolve the visible account or access message before diagnosing the chart feed.
