What Is a Chart Timeframe?
A chart timeframe is the interval summarized by each candle, not the total date range on screen. TradingLead's main chart offers minute presets, custom whole-minute intervals from 1 to 1440, and daily, weekly and monthly views, subject to the selected source's history.
What it means
A timeframe specifies how much time each candle summarizes. A five-minute candle and a daily candle represent different observations. The visible date range answers another question: how much history is currently shown.
Zooming out shows more candles without necessarily changing their interval. Changing the timeframe rebuilds the series at the requested interval, subject to source support.
TradingLead's intervals
The main chart presets are 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120, 180 and 240 minutes, plus daily, weekly and monthly.
The custom form accepts whole-minute intervals from 1 to 1440 minutes. You can enter minutes or hours; saved shortcuts are account-scoped in that browser.
Compatible broker views can aggregate lower-interval candles, while weekly and monthly candles can roll up daily history. Aggregation cannot create missing observations or bypass provider retention.
Sessions and candle boundaries
Intraday buckets follow the instrument's declared session. The last candle can be shorter when the session closes before a full interval elapses.
A numeric 1440-minute intraday interval should not automatically be treated as the same thing as a calendar daily candle. Session anchoring and source conventions matter.
Limitations
The built-in picker does not offer seconds. Registered feed infrastructure can describe second-based capabilities, but current website-provider resolution lists do not establish Indian second charts.
Changing intervals also does not certify fresh market prices. Verify the selected instrument, source, timestamps and any history error.
FAQ
Can I view one stock at two intervals?
Yes. Use multiple chart layouts, enable symbol linking on same-feed panes and leave interval linking off.
Is a larger timeframe more accurate?
It summarizes a different amount of information, not a guaranteed better prediction. Choose an interval for a specific research question, not a profit promise.
Limitations
- The built-in picker does not offer seconds.
- Provider-advertised seconds capability does not prove Indian second-chart availability.
- Derived intervals depend on real source candles.
- The final session candle can be shorter than the interval.
Frequently asked questions
- Which chart intervals does TradingLead offer?
- Main-chart presets are 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 120, 180 and 240 minutes, plus daily, weekly and monthly. Actual history depends on the selected feed.
- Can I create a 7-minute or 75-minute chart?
- The custom form accepts whole-minute intervals from 1 to 1440. A requested interval still needs compatible source history; a shortcut does not create missing data.
- Does TradingLead provide one-second NSE charts?
- The built-in picker does not offer second intervals, and the current website-provider lists do not establish one-second Indian charts. Generic registered-feed seconds support is not proof of an available NSE feed.
