Chart Grid for NSE Stock Shortlists

TradingLead Chart Grid displays a stock universe or completed scanner shortlist as cloud-history chart cards in the right sidebar or an expanded view. Configure timeframe, candle count, ranking, filters and basic indicators to inspect many candidates visually. It is separate from four-pane layouts and does not automatically use the main chart's broker feed.

Inspect a shortlist without opening every stock

Start with a watchlist, category or completed scanner result. Grid places the stocks in chart cards so you can compare visible structure before opening one in detail.

A scanner handoff can read all returned ticker rows, the filtered view or selected rows that survive filters. Canonical symbols are deduplicated and retain result order. It is not every market-wide match when the source result was capped.

Explicit-symbol command requests are limited to 500 tickers. Scanner handoff is separately bounded to about 1,025 rows and discloses truncation. Neither should be silently treated as an unlimited universe.

Settings for a readable research gallery

Ranking supports original order, symbol, percentage change, window change, volume, volume ratio or traded value. Filters include symbol search, change bounds, minimum volume ratio, minimum value in ₹ crore and price bounds. Ranked sorting/filtering requests cloud ranking; changing a setting is not proof of loaded values.

For an illustrative workflow, hand off a daily scanner shortlist, display 12 cards with 100 candles and an SMA20 reference, then inspect high-volume-ratio names. These are research settings, not an entry recommendation or a live-mover scan.

Source and navigation boundaries

Cards use cloud history only. A broker-connected main chart does not supply their candles. Ranking uses stored summaries, which can differ from card history; unknown freshness, unranked symbols and card errors must remain visible.

Use chart indicators copies native chart studies; returning to Basic restores the simpler overlays. It is not a general request to execute custom Python, Pine strategies or independent parameter searches on every ticker.

Expand enlarges the gallery when the workspace allows it. Opening a visible card can apply the Grid timeframe if linking is enabled, but requires a ready default chart and ended replay. It never silently converts a local or broker chart to cloud.

For independently controlled panes or symbol/interval linking, use multi-chart layouts, not a card gallery.

Use it with an AI assistant

Use tl-charts. Real commands include grid.open, grid.getState and grid.configure; use screening.getAnalysis from tl-screening when inspecting the originating selection. Ask the assistant to verify ranking and per-card loading/errors after acceptance.

See the TradingLead command reference and AI prompt cookbook. The public source catalog does not certify every installed tab's support.

Steps

  1. Open Grid in the Charts sidebar.
  2. Choose an offered universe or hand off a completed Scanner list.
  3. Select timeframe, 50–500 candles and 6/12/18/24 cards per page.
  4. Choose basic indicators, ranking and filters.
  5. Wait for ranking/history and inspect errors.
  6. Open a visible card on a ready default-feed chart only after ending replay.

Limitations

  • Cloud-history cards only; no automatic broker/local feed fallback.
  • Source ranking and card candles can differ; no synchronized live-price guarantee.
  • Explicit symbol commands accept up to 500 tickers; scan handoff is bounded and exposes truncation.
  • Opening a card on the main chart needs a ready cloud-backed default chart and ended replay.
  • The workspace Grid footer does not provide a wired Compare 2/4 charts action.
  • Per-card enlarge dialogs remain interactive; Grid is not a batch backtesting engine.

Frequently asked questions

Is Chart Grid the same as four-chart layout?
No. Grid is a cloud-backed card gallery for a larger stock list. Split layouts provide up to four independently controlled panes, with their own active-pane and linking rules.
Can I chart only selected screener results?
Yes. A completed visible Scanner run can hand off all returned rows, filtered rows or selected rows that still survive filters. This reads the result state; it does not rerun the scan.
Does Grid use my connected broker history?
No. Cards use cloud history without broker fallback. A main chart on a local/broker feed does not change their source.
Which timeframes and candle counts are available?
Grid supports 5, 15 and 60 minutes, daily, weekly and monthly, with 50–500 candles per card. Actual coverage still depends on cloud history.
Can I use the main chart's indicators on cards?
There is a Use chart indicators workflow for copying native indicators; basic mode provides SMA20 and EMA50 plus optional volume. This does not promise managed Pine/Python or strategy execution on every card.
Why do a card and its rank show different values?
Ranking uses stored summary candles while the card loads cloud history. Different coverage or snapshot times can produce differences. Inspect ranking and per-card errors rather than assuming synchronized live prices.
