Watchlists, Heatmap and Indian Market Overview

TradingLead combines cloud watchlists, a sortable Watch grid, Multi Watchlists, published indices and constituents, company details, stored peers and a configurable market heatmap. These panels help organize Indian-stock research; quote receipt times and stored snapshots are not guarantees of live exchange prices or fresh fundamentals.

Organize a research list, then inspect context

Use the Watch sidebar for a primary stock grid and the Multi Watchlists bottom panel for several lists. A category or published index supplies a research universe; a cloud watchlist preserves your chosen members. Neither automatically runs a screener or places an order.

The primary Watch grid supports sorting, typed column filters, quick search, column visibility/order/width and manual row order. Columns must be discovered from the actual grid. Manual reordering requires clearing sort, filters and search; a filtered view is not the list's full manual order.

Flag visible rows in red, blue, green, yellow, purple, cyan or pink, or favorite-star existing lists/categories for easier selection. These are organizational labels, not trading signals.

Which panel answers which question?

PanelResearch useImportant limit
WatchKeep, filter and navigate a stock listShared quote summaries are not certified fresh data
Multi WatchlistsSee up to 12 existing-list cardsLocal layout; no extra broker connection
IndicesBrowse published indices and their constituentsSelecting an index also requests its chart
Company DetailsRead sector, industry, ratios and stored news titlesStored upstream snapshot, not live fundamentals
PeersFind stored related companies matched to chart tickersUnsupported/unmatched entries remain explicit
HeatmapInspect color-coded breadth and relative tile sizesCurrent quote summaries only; no 1W/1M view

Details follows the current chart symbol and has explicit collapsed, loading, empty, error and ready states. Merely selecting a company is not a completed data fetch. Peers Refresh/Retry reloads stored data rather than scraping new financial information.

Heatmap settings without a market-cap claim

Choose an offered universe, sector grouping or no grouping, and tile size by:

  • % move: absolute daily move for size; direction is carried by color.
  • Shares: traded volume, which can emphasize cheap, heavily traded stocks.
  • Traded value: price × volume, a turnover proxy rather than market capitalization.
  • Equal: every symbol gets equal area.

Color scales are 2, 3, 5 or 10; limits are all, 50, 100, 250 or 500 tiles. Search highlights symbols rather than fetching historical returns. Aggregate breadth and missing-quote counts help explain coverage, but quote receipt time is not provider freshness.

For example, organize an NSE shortlist, inspect it with equal-sized tiles to avoid turnover dominating the picture, then open relevant stocks for individual chart research. This arrangement is illustrative, not a buy list or evidence that every quote is current.

Saving, exporting and published reports

Create/add-symbol commands accept at most 500 explicit canonical symbols. Removal and flag batches are limited to 100 symbols. Renaming, deletion and favorites have their own operations; deleting a cloud list is irreversible. A successful local display update is not permission to edit cloud membership.

Watch CSV reads export the displayed filtered/sorted rows, at most 100 rows and 24 visible columns per page, within 128 KiB. Formula-like cell prefixes are escaped. Page remaining rows rather than assuming one response is the full list; the command returns text without writing a file.

Market Intelligence reads authorized published datasets and snapshot provenance. Its market/symbol views and pinning help retain research context, but unavailable datasets remain blocked or missing. Futures reads published participant reports; see futures analysis. Neither is live position data or an automatic analysis job.

Use it with an AI assistant

Use tl-markets. Real commands are watchlists.getRows, watchlists.setView, watchlists.create, indices.getState, peers.get and heatmap.configure. Discover the mounted panel and exact offered universe/column IDs first. Read after changes and verify chart readiness after selecting a row.

See the TradingLead command reference and AI prompt cookbook. Cloud watchlist writes need separate user approval; reading market context is not live broker execution.

Steps

  1. Open Charts and the Watch sidebar.
  2. Select an existing watchlist, flag list or category.
  3. Sort/filter the Watch grid and inspect actual data timestamps.
  4. Open published indices, company Details or Peers for context.
  5. Configure a heatmap universe, tile size and grouping.
  6. Save a reviewed shortlist as a TradingLead watchlist, not a broker order.

Limitations

  • Quotes and company/peer information do not certify current exchange or fundamental freshness.
  • Heatmap has no historical-period view and turnover sizing is not market cap.
  • Only published indices and supported chart-catalog tickers are available; unmatched peers have no inferred symbol.
  • Watch-grid commands address the primary grid, not every secondary grid.
  • Column preferences persist; filters/search are session-only. Multi Watchlists layout is account/device-local.
  • CSV commands return bounded text, not a file, clipboard write or redistribution license.
  • External cloud watchlist changes require real sign-in and separate user permission.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create watchlists from screener results?
Yes. Collect verified canonical symbols from completed results and create or add to a TradingLead cloud watchlist. Watchlist writes accept up to 500 symbols per command and require the user's separate write permission for an assistant.
Are these my broker watchlists?
No. TradingLead cloud watchlists are separate from broker watchlists and order placement. Cloud list management does not authorize broker access.
Does the heatmap show market capitalization?
Not as its tile-size model. Choose absolute percentage move, share volume, equal tiles or traded value (price × volume). Traded value is a turnover proxy, not company market capitalization.
Can I view a weekly or monthly heatmap?
No. This heatmap uses current quote summaries without historical-period returns. Weekly/monthly candles belong to charts or screening, not this heatmap.
Where do stock peers come from?
Stored peer information is matched to the chart ticker catalog for supported NSE equities. Matched peers can be chart-linked; unmatched company entries are not invented tickers. Refresh reloads stored peers and catalog data, not an upstream scrape.
How many watchlists can I display together?
Multi Watchlists supports up to 12 existing-list cards in its account/device-local layout. Closing cards does not delete the underlying cloud watchlists.
