Feature
Price and Trendline Alerts in TradingLead
TradingLead alerts watch a price level or a trendline that you draw on the chart and record each crossing in the Alerts panel. Rules are saved to your account, but they are checked only while a TradingLead charts workspace is open. There is no email, SMS, push or webhook delivery.
What it does
Alerts let you mark a level that matters to you and have TradingLead record when price crosses it. The Alerts sidebar in the chart workspace at /charts supports two kinds of alert:
- Price level: a horizontal line at a price you set.
- Trendline: a sloped line you draw between two points on the chart.
Each rule is saved to your TradingLead account, so it is still there when you sign in again on another device. TradingLead does not send alerts to your phone or inbox, and it does not run alerts on a server. Monitoring happens in the app, as described below.
How it works
When you start a price-level or trendline alert, the chart asks you to place the line. A small builder then opens with these fields:
- Condition: Crosses above, Crosses below, Crosses either way, or Touches the line.
- Price source: which candle price the rule checks. With close, a newer candle confirms the close, so a signal at the end of a session may only appear in the next session. With wick, checking starts from the next candle.
- Repeat: Only once, Once per bar, or Every detected crossing.
- Price level: for horizontal alerts, with small step buttons.
Rules are saved to your account through the backend. Price checks run only while this charts workspace is open. A reload restores your rules and recent history, then starts fresh price baselines. The panel footer states that server execution, sound and desktop notifications are not enabled. When a rule triggers, the trigger appears in the panel's Activity view, along with whether a live quote or candle checks were used.

Indicator condition alerts (limited). If you hand off a condition from your own indicator, you can save a local indicator rule. It is stored only in that browser for that account. It is checked at observed bar closes while the app client is active, and each detection is logged with "no notification sent". Closing the app, reloading or changing the indicator stops evaluation until you set the rule up again.
How to use
- Sign in and open a chart at /charts.
- Open the Alerts sidebar and choose Price level or Trendline.
- Place the line, set the condition, price source and repeat options, then press Add alert.
- Keep the charts workspace open while you want the rule monitored.
- Review triggers under Activity.

Limitations
- No off-app delivery. There is no email, SMS, push, webhook, sound or OS notification.
- Monitoring needs an open charts workspace. A closed tab, sleeping laptop or lost connection means no checks.
- Checks sample candle and quote prices. Brief moves between samples can be missed.
- The message and expiry fields appear in the builder, but the backend support they need is documented as not yet deployed. Don't rely on them.
- Alerts never place broker orders.
Plan access is covered on the pricing page.
FAQ
Are alerts saved if I log out? Yes. Rules are stored in your account, but they are monitored only while the charts workspace is open.
Can I get a webhook to my broker? No. TradingLead has no webhook or order-routing alerts.
Can trendline alerts follow a slope? Yes. The rule uses the two points of the trendline you drew.
Limitations
- In-app only; no email, SMS, push, webhook, sound or desktop notifications.
- Monitoring happens only while a TradingLead charts workspace is open.
- Checks use candle and quote samples, not every tick.
- Alert message and expiry fields depend on a backend update that is not confirmed as deployed.
Frequently asked questions
- Will TradingLead alert me on my phone or by email?
- No. TradingLead does not send email, SMS, push, webhook, sound or desktop notifications for alerts. Triggers appear inside the app while a charts workspace is open.
- Do alerts run when I close the browser?
- No. Rules stay saved to your account, but price checks run only while a signed-in TradingLead charts workspace is open. After a reload, the app restores the rules and starts fresh price baselines.
- What conditions can an alert use?
- Crosses above, crosses below, crosses either way, or touches the line. You can also choose the price source and whether the alert fires only once, once per bar or on every detected crossing.
- Can I set an alert on an indicator?
- There is a limited local option for your own indicators. It is saved only in that browser, checks only at bar close while the app is active and sends no notification.
