Feature
AI Workspace: Research Automation in TradingLead
The AI Workspace at /ai-workspace is TradingLead's research-automation page. It runs a bounded strategy scan of up to 500 symbols, shows results and per-ticker errors, and can save matches as a TradingLead watchlist. It is also where you manage the local connection for external AI assistants. It is not a built-in AI chatbot.
What it does
The AI Workspace at tradinglead.in/ai-workspace is listed under Tools as "Your connected research tools". Its header reads Research Automation, and the page is built around one workflow: "Discover supported filters, run a bounded scan, inspect evidence, and save your own watchlist."
The page has two roles:
- It is a research page you can use by hand, with structured scans and clear evidence.
- It is the control point for external AI assistants that operate TradingLead through TradingLead Desktop.
The page does not contain an AI model. In its own words: "This is a command connection, not an AI chat service."
How it works
1. Configure a scan. Choose a strategy filter and its parameters. Then pick a stock category or paste an explicit list of up to 500 unique symbols. A match requires a positive signal from every selected filter, so negative or neutral signals do not count. Cached scans may be reused for up to one hour. A bypass option exists, but the page notes that it does not guarantee fresh market candles.
2. Inspect status and results. Each run shows a run ID, the matched symbols and a count of evaluated tickers versus ticker errors. The page says "Errors are not non-matches", so a data failure is never shown as a clean no. You can open any symbol on a chart with the feed and interval you choose, and nothing falls back to a different source on its own.
3. Save matches. The page can save matched symbols as a TradingLead watchlist in your account. This is not a broker watchlist, and nothing is saved automatically.
Key capabilities
- Bounded strategy scans: up to 500 symbols per run, using the platform's strategy filters.
- Evidence-first results: matches, per-ticker errors and run IDs are shown separately.
- Watchlist hand-off: you explicitly create a TradingLead watchlist from matches.
- Local broker scan (Desktop): run a TLScript-Pine indicator with a numeric threshold on up to 50 tickers using 2–1,000 bars of a connected broker's history. Results stay for the session only and expire after 30 minutes. See broker data feeds.
- Command activity: a log of recent assistant commands, showing names and status only.
- Local automation panel: in TradingLead Desktop, pause or resume the local assistant connection and see what it may do: charts, scripts, simulated trading and saved workspace changes. It cannot place live broker orders.
How to use
- Sign in and open
tradinglead.in/ai-workspace. - Choose a filter, enter or select symbols, and press Run scan.
- Review the matches and errors, and open a symbol on the chart if you want.
- Optionally save the matches as a new TradingLead watchlist.
- To use an external assistant, install the desktop app and follow control TradingLead with AI.
For rule-based scans with presets and custom conditions, use the stock screener in the chart workspace.
Limitations
- There is no built-in AI chat, AI stock picking or natural-language screener.
- Scans are capped at 500 symbols. Cached scan results may be up to an hour old.
- Connecting external assistants and running broker scans require TradingLead Desktop. Browser-only tabs show "External assistants need TradingLead Desktop."
- No broker credentials or model keys are exposed to assistants, and no live orders are placed.
- Scan output is research data, not advice.
Access depends on your plan; see pricing.

Frequently asked questions
- Is the AI Workspace a chatbot?
- No. The page states that it is a command connection, not an AI chat service. You bring your own assistant, such as GitHub Copilot or another terminal agent, through TradingLead Desktop.
- How many symbols can one AI Workspace scan include?
- Up to 500 unique symbols. If a category is larger, the page asks you to copy an explicit subset instead of trimming it silently.
- Does it save anything automatically?
- No. Matches are saved only when you choose to create a TradingLead watchlist. It never creates a broker watchlist or places orders.
- Do I need the desktop app?
- Scans and watchlist saving work in the signed-in web app. Connecting an external AI assistant and running local broker scans require TradingLead Desktop.
