Feature
Broker Data Feeds for TradingLead Charts
TradingLead separates its built-in chart feed from your own supported broker or provider connections. Website options include FYERS and Dhan for supported Indian instruments, with FYERS offering opt-in live quotes; connection status, historical access and fresh prices must be checked separately.
What it does
A chart feed determines where a chart gets its candles and which instruments it can resolve. TradingLead provides a built-in source and separate connections to supported brokers and market-data providers.
Using your own connection can change instrument coverage, history depth, quotas and live-update capability. It does not automatically change all chart panes, make every provider real-time or unlock every market the provider supports elsewhere.
Supported website connections
| Connection | Implemented chart-data boundary |
|---|---|
| FYERS | Supported NSE/BSE equities, indices and NSE/BSE/MCX futures; opt-in live quotes for entitled accounts |
| Dhan | Supported NSE/BSE cash-equity history, search and metadata |
| Alpaca | Supported US stocks and ETFs through your provider credentials |
| Alpha Vantage | Supported forex, metals and US equities through your API key |
| Twelve Data | Supported forex, metals and US equities through your API key |
| OANDA | Supported forex and metals with the matching account environment |
| Binance and Coinbase | Public supported crypto spot candle feeds without broker keys |
These are implemented connection definitions, not a promise that every account will see every option. The current feed catalog, configuration, provider eligibility and account entitlement remain authoritative. There is no supported website Kite connection; the Desktop session connector has separate, experimental boundaries.
Built-in data versus your own feed
The built-in TradingLead source can be used without providing broker credentials, subject to platform access. It should not be described as guaranteed real-time exchange ticks or assigned an unverified fixed delay.
FYERS website live updates are different: after an entitled connection is established, an explicit live-update choice enables browser-direct quote streaming. Candles derived from quotes are provisional and reconciled with FYERS history. A quiet stream, stale status or reconciliation failure is not proof of a healthy current price.
Other website feeds do not inherit FYERS live support. Historical candle access can still be useful, but a successful history request is not a live-data entitlement.
How connection and switching work
- Sign in and open Data feeds or the chart's feed setup dialog.
- Select a supported provider and review its setup instructions.
- Complete hosted login/consent or the required individual credential form.
- Refresh connection status after returning.
- Select a supported instrument and use Test candles.
- Switch explicitly using the successful sample, then verify the chart.
The setup dialog labels the Current chart feed separately from connection status. Testing candles alone does not switch the chart. The combined Check data & switch action changes context only when the check returns candles.
See the connection guide for the full sequence and common failures.
Timeframes, history and limits
Providers advertise supported native resolutions. TradingLead can derive compatible minute intervals from lower-resolution history and roll weekly/monthly views from daily bars. This does not bypass retention, generate missing candles or turn unsupported instruments into supported ones.
FYERS website options ending CE/PE are rejected; supported futures are not a general options feature. Dhan website's cash-equity coverage does not include inferred index or derivatives access.
Provider rate limits can produce a visible wait or failure. Repeated reloads consume quotas and do not establish that missing history will appear.
Limitations
Broker sessions expire independently of TradingLead sign-in. Reconnect through the provided hosted flow when required; do not share passwords, PINs, TOTP codes or API secrets in chat or chart notes.
TradingLead's five-day trial and subsequent subscription govern platform access. Separate provider subscriptions, market rights and quotas can still apply. Connecting a local Desktop feed is also separate from connecting the same provider on the website.
FAQ
Why is Connected not enough?
It establishes a saved connection status, not that the account can return the requested symbol, interval or live stream. Test candles and inspect the resulting chart.
Can I use another broker when history is missing?
You can make an explicit source choice after checking coverage. Do not treat data from another source as an invisible continuation of the original feed.
Limitations
- Provider availability depends on the current catalog and account configuration.
- Broker fees, rights and data entitlements are separate from TradingLead access.
- Current Indian website connectors do not establish options-chart support.
Frequently asked questions
- Which Indian brokers can I connect on the website?
- The website implements FYERS and Dhan connections, subject to server configuration and account eligibility. Zerodha Kite is Desktop-only, not a website broker connector.
- Do I need my own API key?
- Not always. FYERS platform mode uses hosted broker login and consent without asking you to create an API app. Individual connection modes and supported BYO-key providers require their specified credentials.
- Does Dhan stream live quotes in TradingLead's website?
- The current Dhan website connector provides supported historical candles, symbol search and metadata, not the FYERS browser-live transport.
- Does connecting a broker place trades?
- No. These connections supply chart data. They do not establish live broker order execution.
